Volunteer Hours
Parents are required to serve 30 volunteer hours each school year. Here is a list of possible ways
to serve volunteer hours.
Maintenance of Building

Replace outdoor lighting and exit lights monthly

Carpentry/sanding/refinishing shelving in classrooms

Building or maintaining playground equipment after monthly inspections

Entering library books in computer system

Portable project developed by Directress

Organize photography, newspaper clippings, classroom news, etc. into
history of the year book.
Ø Create a memory book/scrape book of school events (e.g. International Night)

Making trips to the resource center at the library

Doing lunch laundry once a week for your child’s class

Assist the directress with cooking in the classroom

Making particular materials as needed by the directress (i.e. sewing,
